1. Introduction Welcome to WriteToWin (“Competition,” “We,” “Us,” “Our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal data of our participants (“Participant,” “You,” “Your”). We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy of our participants, especially minors, in full compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). By participating, You and Your parent/guardian consent to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Collect We collect only the personal data essential for the administration of this free Competition:

    • Participant Information: Full Name, Grade (Class 6-12), School Name, City, State.

    • Contact Information: A Parent/Guardian’s Email Address (or a student’s email).

    • Submission Data: The article file you submit.

3. How We Use Your Information (Purpose of Processing) Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

    • To administer the Competition: To verify eligibility, categorise submissions, and manage the judging process.

    • To Communicate: To send entry confirmations, updates, and notify potential winners.

    • For Anonymous Judging: Your personal details are separated from your article before it reaches the judges to ensure a fair, unbiased evaluation.

    • To Announce Winners & Award Prizes: To publicly announce winners’ names, grades, and schools, and to contact them for prize and certificate delivery.

    • To Fulfil Our Mission: To publish selected articles (with full credit to you) to spread environmental awareness.

4. Children’s Privacy (Our Core Commitment)

    • This Competition is designed for students in Classes 6-12 (minors). We do not knowingly collect data from children outside this scope.

    • Entry into the Competition requires and implies that verifiable consent has been obtained from a parent or legal guardian for the collection and processing of the child’s personal data for the specific purposes outlined in this policy.

    • We reserve the right to request proof of this consent at any time, especially during winner verification.

    • The personal data of children will never be used for tracking, behavioural monitoring, targeted advertising, or any purpose other than the direct administration of this educational competition.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure We do not sell or rent your personal data. It is shared only as follows:

    • With Judges: Only anonymized article files are shared.

    • Publicly (Winners Only): Winners’ names, grades, and schools are shared for announcement purposes.

    • Legal Obligations: If required by a court order or law.

6. Data Security and Retention We use reasonable security measures to protect your data. We retain personal data only as long as necessary to complete the competition cycle, award prizes, and comply with legal obligations, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised.

7. Your Rights As per the DPDPA, you (or your parent/guardian) have the right to access, correct, or request the erasure of your personal data. Please contact our Grievance Officer to exercise these rights.
